Uruguay Advisory

A caravan towed into Uruguay by another vehicle is regarded as any other tourist vehicle. Customs agents can issue a written record of its contents and check them again when the vehicle leaves the country. However, when the caravan is brought into Uruguay on board a ship as cargo, it is held on deposit at the port of arrival. A customs broker must then see that this cargo is customs-cleared, as any other cargo arriving at the docks.
